So, ever since I made the post about my room redo, I have received so many emails asking me where I got all of the stuff on my desk. I know I tried my best to link all of the products I use for my desk organization and decor, but the post was jam-packed with info and images, so I know they probably got overlooked. But, no biggie, because now I get to make an in-depth post about the items on (and in) my desk and all of the products I think every #girlboss needs.
So, let’s do this!
the desk
First and foremost, you need a desk. You do not necessarily have to have a big, huge desk. But, you want to make sure that the desk is spacious and has at least one drawer. I have received tons of compliments on my desk, because of how cute and simple it is.
If you like the simple white desk look, here are some options for you to consider if you don’t have a desk already or are wanting to replace the one you currently have —
You can purchase my desk, which I got from Target, here! I love the sleek white finish and the x-legged legs. I even went a step further and replaced the original knob with a crystal clear diamond/jewel knob, that I purchased off of Amazon. I’m really glad I did, because it adds more glam and sophistication to the desk. You can purchase similar knobs here!

stapler + tape dispenser
Gotta make sure you have your basics! I’m very detail oriented and love when things match and look perfect. That said, I knew I didn’t want to have a mismatched desk set and a random Kleenex box on my desk. So, I searched around and luckily found acrylic/clear desk accessories. Love them, too? Thanks! You can get yours below 😊
You can get the same or very similar ones below:
trinket dish
I love trinket dishes! You can quite literally find trinket dishes in any and every size, shape, color, and material, which is why I think I love them so much. To add a pop of color to my bedroom, I decided to add gold and silver as accent colors. So, when I was finding pieces for my desk, I knew I wanted to incorporate a little bit of both colors, so that my room tied together nicely in all areas. And, to my surprise, one day while I was shopping at Dollar Tree for some candy (because why pay like $8+ for movie theatre candy when you can buy the name box or bag of candy for $1 or less!?) and I went down the decor aisle, and I found a super cute silver pineapple trinket dish. I instantly bought it, because I knew it was an amazing deal and I have a gold pineapple trinket dish on one of my nightstands that I remember buying for at least $12.
Anyways, to get back on track, I use the silver trinket dish to hold some of my pens, pencils, markers and small, little knick-knacks that I want to be easily accessible for when I’m working at my desk (which is 24/7). So, here are some cute trinket dishes I’ve found that I think you all will like —
more drawer space
I literally found these stackable drawers at Dollar Tree and I love them. They add a cute little touch to my desk, seeing as I’ve made sure to maintain the pink, acrylic, and white theme/aesthetic. These drawers are good for holding:
- paper clips
- rubber bands
- thumbtacks
- pushpins
- staples
- whiteout
- etc.
Because you have to buy things in bulk at Dollar Tree, which is super annoying and should be changed, here some other inexpensive + stackable acrylic drawers, from other brands, for your desk:
your laptop, desktop computer, or ipad/tablet
I have a MacBook Pro and highly recommend you get one, too! xo
your go-to journal and notebook
Your desk is not a #girlboss desk unless you have at least one planner and one notebook! Yep, that’s right — at least one of each. I have several. Why? Because I like to be as organized as humanly possible and I love to jot down notes, thoughts, ideas, etc., and that wouldn’t be possible if I didn’t have at least one of my notebooks easily accessible. So, here are some cute notebooks and journals for you to possibly get —
desk decor
picture frames/framed art
What better way to get + stay motivated than to have pictures of the people (and furry friends) that you love! I love pictures and capturing memories, hence the reason why my room is full of pictures and that I have an ombré pink photo wall!
if you like my DIY Lilly Pulitzer Framed Prints, check out the post here!
Anyways, here are some cute frames:
lotions + perfume (that match your aesthetic)
This is not a requirememt, but it’s a cute idea! I had these two PINK lotions from forever ago and when I redid my room, I found them. I was going to give them away, but the colors are adorable and so I ended up wanting to keep them on my desk.
Look around on the following websites for cute lotion +perfume bottles:
- Glossier
- Forever 21
- Victoria’s Secret + PINK
- Philosophy
- KORA
- Herb Essentials
- Amazon

artificial plants and/or flowers
If you’re anything like me, then keeping a plant alive is next to impossible and not really interesting. However, I know plenty of people who love taking care of plants and do a great job at it. I just know that I, personally, am not the type of person to remember watering something and making sure it gets enough light. Sad, I know. But, of course, there are alternatives: artificial plants and flowers! Yep! Small ones that will look great on the desk are usually always cheap and come in various shapes, sizes, and plant type. Here are some that I think would super cute on a desk:
If you are wanting flowers, then I hightly, highyl, huighyl reccomend checking out the articial flowers that Dollar Tree has to offer; they’re great! In fact, it’s the only time I have ordered online from them, becasue you have to buy in bulk, but I’m glad I did, since I needed (well, wanted…lol) a lot of flowers. Click here to view their selection; you will not be disappointed. I promise!
letterboard
Letterboards are a great and simple way to add some life to your desk. Whether you want to add an inspirational quote, a positive affirmation, a funny saying, or even a reminder/to-do list, letterboards are great! Coming in all shapes, sizes, fonts, and colors, you are guaranteed to find a board that matches your room or office. Here are some really cute ones:
Here is mine:
candles
I LOVE candles! My favorite scents are birthday cake//cupcake//vanilla and cotton candy. I have tons of birthday cake + vanilla scented candles all over my room, beccause, to me, it’s such a comforting and relaxing smell. That said, when I’m working at my desk, I sometimes get stressed. So, what do I do? I light a few candles and it instantly relaxes me and makes me way less tense. I believe candles, in general, are relaxing, so find your favorite scent and add 1 or 2 to your desk! Here are some cute candles ones I found:
speaker
Who doesn’t love some music to either a) get us in the mood + motivate us, b) calm us down and c) offer peaceful and soothing background music? I know I do! I’m currently using my Beats Pill, which is my favorite speaker ever and totally worth the money if you’re considering getting one, but I went ahead and found some other speaker options that are small (like mine), cute, and desk-friendly —
clock
My vintage gold alarm clock is currently on one of my floating shelves, but it used to be on my desk prior to me hanging the shelves. I like having a clock, because it keeps me on track. It’s not a requirement, but it can definitely help you stay on top of your schedule, as well as ensure that you’re being as productive as you can throughout the day. So, here are some cute (alarm) clock options that I think would look cute on any boss babes desk:
lighting; desk lamp or table lamp
Because I have a super cute stacked ball floor lamp (from Target) right beside my desk, I opted out of buying a desk lamp, too. However, if you don’t have a floor lamp or window nearby (which I also have), then I suggest purchasing a desk lamp or floor lamp to ensure that you have enough light to get your work done and to stay motivated! Here are some desk lamps I recommend:
the chair
I love, love, love my ghost chair and wouldn’t want a different chair for my desk. However, it doesn’t exactly score very high, in terms of comfort. I sit at my desk for hours on end, each and every day, working on my blog and my other business ventures and my butt started getting super sore. So, I went on Amazon and found a really cute cushion that matches my two other faux white sheepskin rugs in my room. It has yet to come in, but here is the exact cushion I ordered (which I will add to this post and update it once it has arrived) —
Also, feel free to refer back to my bedroom redo post, because I found seven various ghost chair styles that I think you all may like! xo

in the drawers
Organization is the key to being a successful girl boss. And since it’s likely that you have or are planning to purchase a desk that is similar to mine, in that it doesn’t have a lot of drawers, you are going to want to make sure that you buy products that will allow you to utilize the small drawer space as much as you can. That said, here are some products I recommend looking into:
I hope you guys find this post useful! Please let me know if you have any questions + thanks for reading. Love to you all 😘😘
Great ideas Shirley! I’m currently redoing my desk area/home office nook and have a lot of these things checked off. In addition to artwork, I love how a minimalist wall grid looks above a desk.
Thanks so much, Nickesha! I would love to see your desk once you’re finished decorating it!! xo
Shirley, your room is a girl’s dream. So pretty to look at. I really love the acrylic items. Can you tell me where to get the engraving done at? My daughter may like something like this for next year when she starts college.
Thank you so much, Mary! So, I purchased the acrylic items on Amazon and I have a friend who does all of my monogramming. So, I asked her if she could make small monogram decals for my desk supplies and she did! What’s nice is that they’re simply just monogram decals (stickers) so they can easily be removed. In fact, before I redid my room, the decals were navy blue. Once I redid my room, I asked her to make the decals light/bubblegum pink! I suggest going on Google and searching for local monogrammers or even going on Facebook and/or Facebook Marketplace! Good luck and let me know how it goes. xo
